Marc Lagesse
Chairman
After graduating from UCL, Marc Lagesse spent 12 years on the London International Financial Futures Exchange, the last 8 years of those as an own account trader in interest derivatives. He returned to Mauritius in 1996 to manage the Mauritius Fund Ltd, a London listed closed end country fund. From 1998 to 2006, Marc was Managing Director of MCB Investment Management Ltd, the MCB Group’s 60% asset management subsidiary. He was named Group Head of MCB Capital Markets in April 2007.
He holds a BSc (Hons) in Statistics and Economics from the University College London (UK) and a MBA from the London Business School.
Ziyad Bundhun
Ziyad Bundhun trained with London-based firm, Bright Grahame Murray and thereafter joined Saba & Co. (member firm of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu for the Middle-East). He returned to Mauritius in 1993 when he joined the audit firm Ernst & Young. In 1995 he joined Valmet (Mauritius) Ltd, an offshore management company, as Finance Director. He was the founding partner of Mazars & Company, the Mauritius office of the international audit and consulting firm Mazars in 2002. He later joined the Corporate Banking division of the Mauritius Commercial Bank Ltd in August 2005 as Account Executive. Ziyad took office as Managing Director of MCB Capital Partners Ltd in January 2007.
Ziyad Bundhun is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales since 1990
Raoul Gufflet
Raoul Gufflet was with PricewaterhouseCoopers for over 11 years as an auditor and a management consultant in Eastern Europe, Mauritius, Africa and Asia where he was involved in various assignments such as auditing and other advisory assignments especially in the banking and financial sector. He resigned from PricewaterhouseCoopers as Senior Manager in Eastern Europe to join The Mauritius Commercial Bank Ltd in April 2004. He currently heads the International Division of the MCB.
Raoul Gufflet holds a Maîtrise en Economie and a DESS Banque et Finance from the University of Paris Sorbonne (France). He is also a Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Thierry Koenig
Thierry Koenig is a practicing Attorney since 1986 with the local law firm De Comarmond & Koenig. He is the President of the Association of Business Lawyers and is the Mauritius representative of the Internal Litigation Committee of the International Bar Association.
He holds a MaŒtrise en Droit from the University of Reunion (France)
Garry Sharp
Independent Director
Garry Sharp has 24 years’ experience in private equity and since 2002 has trained and provided consultancy for a range of General Partners across the Middle East and Sub Saharan Africa. He is the author of 7 books on private equity and related topics and is editor of the Institute of Chartered Accountants’ Corporate Finance Manual in the UK
Bernard Yen
Independent Director
Bernard Yen is presently the Managing Director of Hewitt L Y Ltd. He has gained most experience in Europe at William M Mercer Ltd, one of the world’s largest actuarial and benefit consulting firms.
He is a fellow member of the Institute of Actuaries (UK).
